SUMMARY:Ian K Brown performs at Echo Festival
DESCRIPTION:Performance 7.15 pm with Ian K Brown\n\nHe will play a selection of songs from his forthcoming show at Broadstairs Folk Week entitled A Man of Kent and the Scottish Border Concert. This will cover a journey from discovering folk music as a teenager to living on the Northumberland–Cumbrian border. Ian’s journey has been shaped by tradition and place. This show shares the stories behind his original songs\, inspired by life in the Scottish border region\, with subtle references to his early years in Kent. Alongside these\, Ian will perform a selection of well-loved songs from the North\, celebrating the region’s rich musical heritage\n\nHere is a bit about me.\n\nIan K Brown is a Northumberland based singer/songwriter guitarist.\n\nI am busy musician who plays festivals in summer and a wide range of gigs and other musical endeavours through the winter.\n\nI have been playing solo since 2012 when prior to that I was with Newcastle’s Tenth Avenue Band playing at festivals in England\, Ireland and Germany.I have three albums of songs\, ‘Dancing with Shadows’ – produced by Rick Kemp (Steeleye Span’s Bass man) in 2001\, ‘Rough Around the Edges’ – 2008 and most recently ‘One Voice One Guitar’ – 2018. They can probably be described as being in the contemporary folk genre.\n\nOver the last few years I have been part of many festivals including Broadstairs Folk Week\, Maddy Prior’s Forgotten Lands festival\, Baafest\, The Feel Good Festival\, Redefest\, Waterfoot Wakes\, The Mighty Dubfest\, The Dinky Dubfest\, Haltwhistle Walking festival\, Alston Live\, Woolfest\,The Moffat Eagle Festival\, Tynedale Beer Festival\, Cumberlandia \, Greenside Festival\, The Hadrian’s Wall festival and the Allen Valleys Folk Festival.\n\nAt many of these festivals I do a combination of performance\, ukulele workshops and MCing stages – sometimes all three.\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/BrownIanK \n\nHear me at\nhttps://iankbrown.bandcamp.com \n\nSee me at\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@ianbrown5733 \n\n\nTICKETS HERE    https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GOKD

SUMMARY:Anne-Marie Sanderson and Johnny Campbell at Lanercost Priory
DESCRIPTION:Anne-Marie Sanderson is a Cumbrian singer-songwriter whose music is at once earthy and airy\, grounded yet ethereal. Drawing inspiration from nature\, literature and her travels\, Sanderson’s haunting melodies and poetic lyrics mesmerise and enchant\, with transportive effects on listeners. \nHer new album\, Old Light\, has been described as “uplifting and gentle” (NARC)\, “articulate and ethereal” (Rocking Magpie)\, and “melodically divine” (BBC Introducing). With influences including Nick Drake Kate Bush and a host of under-the-radar musical peers\, her intricate guitar work and captivating vocals make her a standout in the contemporary singer-songwriter scene.Anne-Marie \nJohnny Campbell emerged onto the UK folk scene writing self-penned material and delving deep into Northern English folk song and story. \n”A Modern-Day Billy Bragg” – Tradfolk \nThe album From Hull & Halifax & Hell (2020) took him to The Faroe Islands where he recorded a live album on the island of Nolsoy. Since musical instruments hadn’t arrived on the islands until the 19th century\, this is perhaps the first time Northern English traditional song has been recorded on these islands. \nThis album earned him album of the week with Blues and Roots radio \nand reviews with British folk press: \n”The spirit of the folk clubs in their heyday runs in his veins” Folking.com\n”I defy anyone not to be galvanised by the total integrity of his exceptional rendition of (Ewan MacColl’s) Moving On Song” The Living Tradition\n”A truly entertaining work. Lose yourself in the true folk experience” Fatea Magazine \n”Haunting\, Evocative & Pure” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Songlines\n”A rucksack full of Wonders” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – MOJO \nAnne-Marie Sanderson:\n“Articulate and ethereal…” – Rocking Magpie\n“Absolutely wonderful… I can recommend Anne-Marie’s live show\, it’s fantastic” – BBC Introducing\n”Haunting\, Evocative & Pure” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Songlines\n”A rucksack full of Wonders” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – MOJO \n  \nTicket £15 \nConcession Ticket £10 \nhttps://www.trybooking.com/uk/GPSV
