This lecture looks at the houses and works of art that Jane and William Morris made together\, from Red House to Kelmscott Manor. Through newly-revealed letters and diaries\, furniture\, wall-hangings and beautiful books\, we can explore the pioneering life they embraced with their artist friends. \nDr. Suzanne Fagence Cooper is a writer\, broadcaster and curator with expertise in 19th and 20th century British art and culture. She spent 12 years at the V&A Museum\, researching the Victorian collections\, and is in demand as historical consultant for TV and film. DESCRIPTION:An evening with local singers\, songwriters and creatives. Supper included in the ticket.\nCome and join us in the atmospheric surroundings of Lanercost Priory Cumbria. Come and hear emerging artists perform. Echo Events welcome Asha Nicholson\, Chloe Cacau\, Eve Dodds\, Savanna Evans and DJ Imogen who will be curating an enchanting night of midsummer music and feasting. \nA bit about our creatives……. \nAsha draws inspiration from the Cumbrian landscape she inhabits\, blending shadows and song\, acoustic and electronic\, to create ethereal yet haunting compositions which have drawn comparisons to the likes Electronica alt-rockband Portishead\, and the ambient folk of experimental musician Grouper. \nChloë Cacau is a vocal improviser who weaves poetry\, jazz and the musicality of capoeira\, the Brazilian art form she grew up with\, to create unique improvised performances. \nEve Dodds –  Eve\, a British Designer\, from Cumbria with a first class degree in Interaction Design Arts from University of the Arts London. \nEve has worked with the Science Museum in London designing exhibits for their Lates evenings\, and work through visual communication\, film\, physical making\, sound and performance. She aims to create meaningful work that does something good for people. Whatever form that may take….Oh and she has a beautiful voice (see soundcloud below)! \nSavanna Evans is part of our Echo Events Team\, is a poet\, singer and muse.
